P&L: realized and unrealized
P&L combines stocks, funds and FDs by account and Indian financial year (April to March). By default it shows all accounts for the current year.
Realized profit comes from completed sales, counted in the financial year of the sale. Unrealized profit is calculated live from your open lots, for the current year. FD returns combine past totals with live interest for the current year.
- Foreign funds use historical buy and sell exchange rates where available.
- Expected dividends are estimates from annual yield, not cash you have received.
Inflows: money actually coming in
Inflows is about income, not portfolio performance. It shows scheduled FD interest and positive realized profits automatically, plus manual entries such as salary, rent, bonus, RSUs, dividends and PF.
Enter dividends as the net cash received after TDS. RSUs can be entered in USD and are converted using the previous month-end rate. Principal you get back from a sale is not counted as income, and losing sales are shown separately.
Portfolio Tracker: the long view
The Portfolio Tracker keeps a month-by-month record of your wealth across categories such as India and US equity, gold and silver, debt funds, FDs, PF, savings and real estate.
New months start from your latest row and prefill live values from current holdings. Future months are projected from your own return assumptions, so you can see where your plan is heading and compare it with what actually happens.
